Bajaj has revised the prices well before the implementation of the GST and here is the updated list
There is a lot of confusion regarding the pricing of motorcycles post the implementation of GST (Goods and Services Tax). The government is charging 30 per cent of tax currently for bikes of all class. Post GST, the tax will reduce to 28 per cent for motorcycles below 350cc engine capacity. Bikes with engine capacity over 350cc will be considered as luxury products and hence, will attract an additional cess of 3 per cent, taking the overall tax percentage to 31. It is good news for small bike buyers as the motorcycles will now carry a more affordable price tag provided from the manufacturer's desk.
Though the cost of everyday goods will reduce, the cost of services which include insurance and RTO charges will be going up. It will be interesting to see what will be the exact prices of the bikes after GST. A few manufacturers, including Bajaj, had already offered the benefit of post GST prices from their end to customers, though the addition of new insurance and RTO costs will make them roughly Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 costlier depending on the motorcycle post July 1, 2017.
