Mercedes-Benz took the wraps off the C-Class Coupe ahead of its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. Just like the C-Class draws its inspiration from the larger S-Class, the coupe version of the C too borrows some of its design cues from the S-Class Coupe. However, the S-Class Coupe is longer and sits a lot lower than the recently unveiled C-Class Coupe.
With regards to the interior, the C-Class coupe shares a lot of its parts with its sedan sibling. Under the hood, the C-Class Coupe will be offered with a petrol as well as diesel engine option. It gets a 1.6-litre petrol unit that makes 156PS. The other petrol unit a 2.0-litre will go on sale in three states of tune – 184PS C200 variant, a 211PS C250 trim and lastly the C300 that makes 245PS. The diesel will continue to be the same 2.1-litre unit that we also have on the C-Class and will be offered in the C220 variant producing 168PS and a C250CDI that churns 201PS. These engines will either be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or will come with a 7-speed and 9-speed automatic gearbox option.
In the international market, the C-Class Coupe will take on the likes of the BMW 4 Series and the Audi A5. While the C-Class Coupe will soon hit the American market, it will be a while before it makes its way to India.
