The Audi Q7 has always been a popular luxury SUV in India. With the likes of several Bollywood personalities and politician taking to its aggressive and bulky looks, the Q7 has instant success in India. That said, the SUV in its current design was launched 9 years ago and that is a long time for any popular automobile. That said, Audi will now launch the all-new Q7 in India on December 10 and we expect the highly refreshed and redesigned SUV to be as popular as the one it replaces.
The new Audi Q7 now gets an all new body with much a sharper design and of course, the new arrow shaped LED daytime running lights. The new body also gets much sharper creases all round and a more aggressive stance on the whole. The new car also gets very prominent wheel arches, a LED tail lamp structure and sporty front and rear bumpers. The roundish exhausts in the current generation car will also be replaced by a set of trapezoidal exhaust pipes.
The bread and butter 3.0-litre TDI engine, which will be the engine of choice when it comes to India get a boost in power of 32PS. The V6 now produces 276PS of power, clocking an 0-100kmph time in 6.3 seconds. Audi says efficiency has gone up by up to 28 percent in the new car as compared to the older Q7. Although not to be launched immediately, there will also be a petrol powered version of the Audi Q7 which will be called the SQ7. This new sportier Q7 will feature 338PS of peak power and a 0-100kmph time of only 6.1 seconds.
Expect the new Audi Q7 to be priced around the Rs 75 lakh mark and go up straight against the likes of the Volvo XC90, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLS, Land Rover Discovery and the BMW X5.
