Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer Porsche has launched the updated range of the 911, with prices starting at Rs 1.42 Crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The iconic supercar is available in the Carrera as well as Turbo guise, and in Coupe, 'S' and Cabrio trims.
With the update the 911 loses its naturally aspirated 3.6-litre flat six engine. It gets a 3.0-litre turbocharged motor instead, that is more powerful and more efficient. It produces 370PS of power and 450Nm of torque, whereas the souped-up 'S' version develops 420PS and 500Nm.
The supercar beater 911 Turbo is on offer as well, that features a 3.8-litre twin turbo power that can rocket from 0-100kmph in just 2.9 seconds. To put that into perspective, that is identical to the Lamborghini Aventador!
The 540PS motor will sing its symphony all the way up to 318kmph.
Changes to the exterior and interior remain minimalistic. To keep up with Porsche's new signature, the 911 features a four-pot LED headlamp setup. Other additions include new taillights, new door handles and a redesigned rear lid. The driver-focused cockpit is enveloped in leather and gets goodies such as a 7-inch touchscreen system with navigation and Apple CarPlay, a handwriting recognition system and in-car Wi-Fi.
The 911 will be imported into India as a completely built unit (CBU). Just like its predecessor, the facelift will be sold through Porsche's dealerships located in Mumbai, Gurgaon, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Kochi, and Ahmedabad. Here's a detailed price list. All prices, ex-showroom Delhi.
