Sure, the Range Rover Sport is already quite the hardcore flagship SUV and the fastest Range Rover ever. But the folks from Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division have taken things up a notch, introducing a new Ultimate Edition trim packed with a host of visual upgrades.
First up, the SVR Ultimate Edition gets blacked-out ‘Range Rover’ lettering on the bonnet and tailgate, complemented by white accents on the side fenders. The door mirror caps, front grille, grille surrounds, front wing, and tailgate accents also get a similar ‘black’ treatment. There are also the new 22-inch alloy wheels, a body-colour carbon fibre bonnet, and black brake calipers.
The Ultimate Edition is available in three paint options: Ligurian Black Satin, Marl Grey Gloss, and Maya Blue Gloss. Barring the first shade, the other two come with glass flake particles. Regardless of your choice of colour, the roof comes finished in Narvik Black, which lends a bit of a contrast.
Inside, the SVR Ultimate Edition gets impressive styling elements like illuminated door sills, chrome-finished ‘SV Bespoke’ B-pillar badges, and metal gearshift paddles finished in black. All of this plus SVR-embossed performance seats finished in perforated Windsor leather. Sweet, we say.
Under the hood, things haven’t changed from the standard trim. The Ultimate Edition gets a 5-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine (paired with an 8-speed automatic that sends power to all four wheels) pushing out 575PS and 700Nm. Thanks to it, the SVR can go from 0-100kmph in a blisteringly quick 4.5 seconds, eventually topping out at 283kmph.
Global bookings for the Range Rover Sport SVR Ultimate Edition have already commenced, with the flagship SUV being priced at 123,900 pounds (around Rs 1.26 crore). Here in India, the SVR retails at Rs 2.19 crore (ex-showroom, India). We’re yet to know when Land Rover will bring the Ultimate Edition here. However, considering bookings are accepted globally, we can expect the SUV soon. It takes on the Audi RSQ8, Porsche Cayenne, and the BMW X5M.
