It was just over a year ago that BMW presented the mid-life-cycle M4 and M3 facelift. They have finally made their way to India and sport some minor cosmetic revisions. The biggest highlight for both cars are the redesigned standard adaptive LED lighting system along with the updated set of full LED tail lights. Nope, the laser light system from the M4 Concept Iconic isn’t here just yet.
Struggling to tell them update apart from the original? Well, an easy tell upfront is the corona ring daytime running lights being replaced with new semi-circular DRLs (akin to the new 5-Series and 7-Series). The tail lights have a more distinctive lighting signature along with the lowered reverse lamps. The BMW M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe also get an updated version of the Navigation System Professional and other ConnectedDrive features with the 8.8-inch infotainment system.
Mechanically, the cars remains untouched. You still get the same 3.0-litre, in-line 6-cylinder petrol engine that makes 450PS of power at 7000rpm and 550Nm of torque at 2350-5500rpm. The 0-100kmph time is an identical 4 seconds. While the new M5 has gone all-wheel drive, the twin-clutch transmission in the M3/M4 still propel the rear wheels only.
The BMW M3 is priced at Rs 1.3 crore while the BMW M4 is priced at Rs 1.33 crore, ex-showroom India.
