[UPDATE: Revolt has launched the RV400 in India and here are the details. We've also ridden the motorcycle and you can check out our first ride review here.]
Revolt Motors is all set to launch India’s first electric bike, the RV 400, on August 7. However, ahead of its launch, the startup has introduced its app called MyRevolt for free on Google Play Store. We believe Revolt will roll out an iOS-compatible version soon as well.
The app comes with a number of features designed to considerably enhance the motorcycle’s functionality. For starters, it shows the estimated range in Eco, City and Sport mode. One can remotely turn the bike on or off using the power button too. The user can also select the ‘Bike Sound’ of their own choice. There are four presets available for now (Revolt, Roar, Rebel and Rage). We found the ‘Rage’ setting to be pretty interesting as it imitates the sound of an old-school two-stroke motorcycle like a Yezdi or a Jawa. The volume of the faux engine note can be set using the app.
The geo-fence feature allows the user to set a radius and turn on the safety feature. If the RV400 leaves the set radius, then it sends a warning to the app. The ‘Swap Battery’ function allows the user to find the nearest charging station on the map. One can navigate to the charging station via the app and scan the station ID via the phone’s camera or enter it manually as well to unlock the battery.
One can also order a new battery via the app. The user simply has to choose the address, date and time, and place a confirmation. There’s also a ‘My Bike’ feature but it gets unlocked only after you own the RV 400. Expect this functionality to show details like the bike’s battery health, service records and other details. Other features include bike location sharing function, trip history and swap history as well. The trip history shows the distance travelled, time taken, route and even the average speed. You can read more about the bike’s AI-enabled features here.
