Revolt RV 400 Unveiled; Becomes India’s First Fully Electric Motorcycle

Revolt Intellicorp has finally unveiled India’s first fully electric motorcycle, the RV 400. The company has announced that the bike will be launched next month and that deliveries will commence soon after. One can pre-book the motorcycle through the company's website for a token amount of Rs 1,000 starting June 25. It will be first available in Delhi followed by NCR, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Ahmedabad and Chennai. The RV 400 electric motorcycle will be manufactured at Revolt’s production facility in Manesar, Haryana. Spread across 1 lakh sq.ft, the manufacturing plant has an annual production capacity of 1.2 lakh units.

In terms of features, the Revolt RV 400 is ahead of its rivals by a considerable margin. Along with LED headlamps and a fully digital instrument cluster, it features AI-based technology which improves the battery performance as per the riding style. The 'artificial intelligence’ system will also calculate real-time battery consumption, range, distance travelled, time taken, and more. It gets Bluetooth connectivity and buyers can remotely start their motorcycles via their smartphone! The bike will also support voice commands to start the motor. Also, to make sure the RV 400 pleases die-hard fans of petrol-powered motorcycles, Revolt has equipped it with an option of four artificial exhaust notes. Whether the electric motorcycle will get additional exhaust notes in the future via OTA updates remains to be seen.

Revolt has revealed that the RV 400 has received an ARAI-certified range of 156km. The company added that the top speed has been capped at 85kmph. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at either ends. The electric bike gets an inverted fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It's available in two colour options, Rebel Red and Cosmic Black.

Revolt hasn’t revealed the price of the RV 400 yet, but we expect it to command around Rs 1 lakh (on-road) after FAME II subsidy. Further details will be revealed next month. So stay tuned to ZigWheels for updates.
