One way to solve the range anxiety issue on an electric two-wheeler is via battery swapping. While there aren’t many electrics that offer this tech currently in India, Revolt is one of the few manufacturers offering it as standard on its motorcycles, the RV400 and the RV300. To incentivise battery swapping, Revolt had planned to offer free swapping, or as Revolt calls it ‘Switching,’ until 31st December, 2019. Now, Revolt has extended the free period to 31st March.
Revolt has been adversely affected by the delay in production of the electric vehicles, which has caused lapses in delivery timelines. Hence, with not as many RV400s and RV300s on the road as initially expected, Revolt had to continue along with the free battery swapping period. We believe that this period could extend further by another two months but we await official confirmation on the same. A nominal charge would come into effect soon thereafter.
The news comes just days after Revolt hiked prices of the flagship RV400 by a small amount. The prices for the RV300 remain unchanged.
