Royal Enfield has commenced its BS6 journey by riding in the new BS6-complaint Classic 350. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 BS6 is priced at Rs 1,65,205 (ex-showroom), making it around Rs 12,500 more expensive than the previous BS4 model. It isn’t surprising that the Classic 350 is the first BS6 bike from Royal Enfield as it is the brand's most popular model.
The new Classic 350 will be available in two new shades - Stealth Black and Chrome Black. The company also stated that the Stealth Black and Gunmetal Grey colour variants of the Classic 350 will feature alloy wheels and tubeless tyres as standard fitment. According to our sources, both these colours will command a premium of around Rs 13,000 and will be priced around Rs 1.78 lakh to Rs 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom).
Royal Enfield hasn’t shared any details about the motor apart from stating that it features fuel injection, which has in turn improved refinement and offers smoother power delivery. It will be interesting to see whether the 346cc, air-cooled, UCE powerplant is able to produce the same 19.8PS and 28Nm of torque as delivered by the older engine.
Royal Enfield also announced that the new BS6 Classic 350 will be offered with 3-year warranty and 3-year RSA (roadside assistance) as standard. The new bike features dual-channel ABS as standard. In terms of competition, the new Classic 350 will rival the Benelli Imperiale 400 and the Jawa.
