Royal Enfield has introduced a new service programme called ‘Ride Sure’ with three options: Ride Sure Basic, Basic Plus and Premium. Under all three plans, the bikemaker offers two years of additional warranty over the standard two-year warranty. The total warranty now stands at four years or 50,000km, whichever comes earlier.

Under Ride Sure Basic Plus, customers can get free roadside assistance for the second, third as well as the fourth year, in addition to the extended warranty. The top-of-the-line plan, Ride Sure Premium, also offers these two, in addition to free clutch, throttle cables and brake pads replacement if they’re worn out under normal usage. The major parts covered under the Ride Sure scheme are:

    RE Ride Sure

This pretty much covers all the major parts of the motorcycle. The pricing for the Ride Sure plan is as follows:

    Bikes

    Basic

    Basic Plus

    Premium

    All bikes up to 350cc

    Rs 2,150

    Rs 3,100

Rs 5,300 (for the rear disc brake-equipped bikes)

Rs 6,075 (for the rear drum brake-equipped motorcycles)

    Bikes between 350cc and 500cc

    Rs 2,650

    Rs 3,650

Rs 5,900 (for bikes with rear disc)

Rs 6,600 (for bikes with a rear drum brake)

Prices are inclusive of 18 per cent GST

The catch here is that you have to opt for the Ride Sure plan within 45 days of purchase. That means, if your motorcycle is older than 45 days, you may not be able to avail the new services. However, you can still opt for a one-year Roadside Assistance programme for about Rs 900 - Rs 1,000.

Interestingly, ‘Ride Sure’ covers all motorcycles except the Royal Enfield 650 twins. That’s because the 650 twins already come with a standard three-year/40,000km warranty along with a standard three-year roadside assistance programme.
