Kia Syros will be revealed in India on December 19.
It will be Kia’s third SUV being made in India and is expected to sit between the Sonet and Seltos.
It will sport a new design reminiscent of the Kia EV9 launched lately.
It is confirmed to get a panoramic sunroof and vertical lighting elements from the teasers.
It is expected to be equipped with modern tech and a heft of features on board.
It will likely retain the Sonet’s petrol and diesel engine options.
Well, Christmas is close, and a new Kia SUV is even closer as the Kia Syros has been confirmed to debut in India on December 19. Following Kia's naming tradition, the Syros is expected to be positioned between its siblings, the Sonet and Seltos, further expanding the Korean marque’s foothold in a segment it is particularly popular for—SUVs. With a good two weeks to spare, we might be teased with some more details closer to the reveal date.
While you wait for that, here’s a detailed overview of all the bits that have already been confirmed or what we expect the new SUV might bring. Let’s see.
The carmakers seem to be spicing up their design philosophies lately. While we’re still admiring the design details of the new Mahindras, it’s worth recalling Kia’s recent launches—the EV9 and Carnival MPV—both featuring distinct and bold designs. The upcoming Kia Syros connects dots with a similar design language. It seems boxier and rugged, highlighted by its flat roof, vertically stacked headlights, and long vertical LED DRLs.
On the sides, the Syros features integrated roof rails that enhance its SUV stance, along with flush-fitted door handles for a sleek and modern profile.
At the rear, the SUV is equipped with L-shaped LED tail lights positioned in the upper section of the tailgate. The flat tailgate design complements the overall boxy and muscular aesthetic of the vehicle.
Inside, we reckon the Kia Syros will show a similar cabin layout as the Sonet and Seltos. As for features, the teaser gave us a glimpse of its panoramic sunroof and we expect it to bring amenities like dual 10.25 inch screens for the infotainment and driver’s display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated and powered front seats, a wireless phone charger as well as 6 standard airbags and level-2 ADAS for safety.
In its powertrain, we expect the Kia Syros to carry similar engine and transmission options as the Sonet as follows:

|

1.2-litre NA petrol |
5-MT |

The Kia Syros is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will not have any direct competitors as such.
