The hellish month of May 2021 caused major havoc in our lives. The second wave of COVID-19 made sure that we put everything on pause. Hence, two-wheeler sales figures for the month aren’t as great as they used to be. Here are the top five bikes between Rs 1 lakh - Rs 2 lakh sold in May:
Bikes |
Units Sold In May 2021 |
TVS Apache |
19,885 |
Royal Enfield Classic 350 |
9,239 |
Royal Enfield Bullet 350 |
6,669 |
Royal Enfield Meteor 350 |
3,375 |
Yamaha FZ Fi v3 |
3,008 |
Since this was a topsy-turvy month, it doesn’t surprise us that Royal Enfield didn’t manage to take top honours in this list here. It was TVS with all of the Apaches barring the RR 310 of course. The SIAM report doesn’t give us individual sales figures of the Apache RTR 160, RTR 160 4V, RTR 180, and the RTR 200 4V. Chances are that one particular model among the four raked in the most units.
Then there’s the Royal Enfield trio of the Classic 350, Bullet 350, and the Meteor 350. Despite the slow month, these three REs managed healthy sales and it is only bound to get better from here on. The launch of the J-platform Classic 350 is around the corner, so expect sales to soar from here on.
Lastly, the R15 V3 was Yamaha’s most popular motorcycle for a few months. This time round though, it is the FZ Fi v3 commuter that sold a thousand units more than the supersport. With the launch of the new FZ-X, Yamaha should expect healthier sales in the forthcoming months.
