Superbikes are a dream for two-wheeler fanatics and in the last decade, the big bike market in India has bloomed with a variety of options. This has made them accessible for a wider audience, thus promoting sales. Curious to know which of these topped the sales charts in April 2021? Read on to find out:
Kawasaki Z900 - 75 units
Leading the sales chart is the popular Kawasaki Z900. Why is it at the top, you ask? Because at Rs 8.34 lakh (ex-showroom), it is one of the most bang-for-buck inline-four naked big bikes out there. Along with its impressive 125PS motor, the Z900 also offers TFT instrumentation, traction control, Bluetooth connectivity, riding modes, all LED illumination, and not to forget, razor sharp aesthetics.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX 10R - 52 units
Launched in March, the 2021 Kawasaki ZX 10R isn’t a surprise entry in this list. It’s been the most affordable litre-class superbike in India for a few years now and that trend continues in the BS6 era. At a staggering Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the pricing is almost too good to be true for a 200PS+ bike featuring top-spec electronics, mechanicals, and underpinnings derived from the WSBK championship winning bike.
Triumph Trident 660 - 50 units
Running close to the Ninja ZX-10R is Triumph’s most affordable triple in India, the Trident 660. There were big expectations from the Trident and the bike has stood firm on them. The sales numbers are thanks to the bike's excellent pricing, impressive performance numbers, and versatile nature. Expect these numbers to improve further once the lockdown restrictions are lifted in metropolitan cities. For full deets on the most affordable Triumph on sale in India, head here.

Triumph Bonneville Street Twin - 34 units
Next up is the most affordable Triumph bike from the BS4 era, the Bonneville Street Twin. Launched in April itself, the Street Twin is a proven do-it-all British motorcycle. For BS6, Triumph has given it a few cosmetic tweaks and a more eco-friendly 900cc motor. Head to our story for full details about the baby Bonnie.
Honda CBR650R - 27 units
Rounding up the top five is Honda’s entry-level supersports, the CBR650R. At an eye-watering Rs 8.88 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2021 CBR650R still remains the most affordable faired inline-four motorcycle in India. It isn’t the most feature-packed or best-looking offering in its class but it is surely one of the most well-rounded packages out there, thanks to Honda’s low maintenance costs and nominal spare parts prices. To know all about it, check out its top five highlights.
Apart from these five, we’d like to give a quick mention to the Triumph Rocket 3. 25 units were sold in April, which is a rather astonishing number for a bike priced at Rs 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom)!
