Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer has joined the green revolution with the TVS iQube Electric scooter. It is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (on-road), which puts it squarely against the Ather 450. And much like the Ather 450, it’ll begin its journey from Bengaluru. Bookings have already commenced for a token amount of Rs 5,000 via its official website and select TVS dealerships. Deliveries are slated to commence on January 27, 2020.

The TVS iQube Electric scooter is designed keeping in mind the modern trends of today. It is currently available in a single white colour scheme. On the feature front, the scooter gets a full-colour instrument console with TVS’ SmartXonnect system. The scooter also gets clear lens LED headlamp, an LED tail light, and an illuminating logo near the drivetrain. Not to mention, an under-seat light and a USB charging socket.
Other notable features include Q-park assist, multiple riding modes, day and night display, and regenerative braking. Its ability to connect with your smartphone means you can check past ride stats, overspeeding and emergency alerts, battery charge status, last park location, as well as get navigation assist and incoming call/SMS alerts.
What about performance though? The iQube Electric scooter is powered by a 4.4kW electric Hub motor and a set of 2.25kwh li-ion batteries that deliver a claimed top speed of 78kmph. It can travel up to 75km on a full charge. It's quick too and bolts from 0 to 40kmph in 4.2 seconds. Although, we’d like to point out that the scooter is restricted to a top speed of 40kmph in Eco mode. The scooter can be charged from either a 5A charging socket, a smart home charging unit, or a public charging station. Thankfully, the home charger and installation is included in the cost of the scooter.

Its mechanicals comprise a telescopic fork and twin shocks at the rear. The scooter is anchored by a front disc presumably borrowed from the Jupiter Grande and a drum unit at the rear. Its 12-inch wheels have been borrowed from the Jupiter Grande. The iQube weighs in at 118kg (kerb).
TVS says it already has 1,000 units ready to be shipped of which 100 will be delivered in Bengaluru this coming week. The newly launched electric scooter from TVS will go up against the Ather 450 and the Bajaj Chetak. For added peace of mind, TVS is offering a 3-year/50,000 km warranty on the iQube.
