TVS Motors has launched its electric scooter, the iQube Electric in Pune at a price tag of Rs 1,10,898 (on-road, inclusive of the FAME-II and Maharashtra state subsidy). Interested customers can book the iQube for a token amount of Rs 5,000 via TVS’ official website.
Apart from Pune, the TVS iQube was first launched in Bengaluru and it recently went on sale in the National Capital too. It has received a price cut after the new FAME-II subsidy, and retails at Rs 1,10,506 in Bengaluru and Rs 1,00,777 in Delhi. Hence it is Rs 392 cheaper in Bengaluru and a substantial Rs 10,121 cheaper in Delhi.
Coming to the scooter, the TVS iQube is powered by a 4.4kW electric hub motor capable of propelling it from 0 to 40kmph in 4.2 seconds and to a claimed top speed of 78kmph. The motor is mated to a 2.25kWh lithium-ion battery featuring reg, which allows a maximum range of 75km.
For effortless charging, TVS offers a SmartXHome charging station (the company’s jargon for the home charging setup) and has set up four public charging stations across Pune.
This futuristic looking scooter is also equipped with many modern features. These include all-LED lighting, an illuminating logo near the drivetrain, riding modes, an underseat light, and a USB charging socket. Topping all this is a digital TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity that unlocks geo-fencing, navigation, location tracking, and shows incoming call/SMS notifications.
In Pune, the iQube Electric goes against the Bajaj Chetak and undercuts it by over Rs 30,000, giving it a crucial upper hand.
