As per our sources, the BS6-compliant TVS Radeon is likely to be launched in January 2020. The motorcycle is currently carburetted and will have to be updated with a fuel injector to comply with the upcoming emission norms. So, expect the bike to command a premium of around Rs 7,000 to Rs 8,000 over the existing version, which retails at Rs 51,360 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Despite the addition of fuel injection, the power figure is likely to witness a small dip in favour of cleaner emissions. However, the torque could go up so the motorcycle remains as sprightly as before. At present, the 109.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor churns out 8.4PS and 8.7Nm, working in conjunction with a 4-speed transmission.

Expect TVS to retain the telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorber setup. The Hosur-based bikemaker could offer a front disc as an option in the standard BS6 model itself. Currently, only the ‘Commuter Bike Of The Year’ edition features an optional 240mm front petal disc.
As far as features are concerned, the analogue instrument console could be updated with a semi-digital one. The optional USB charging port may also be made standard in the BS6 model. These changes should ensure customers get something tangible in terms of features to compensate for the inevitable price hike. Expect TVS to update the motorcycle with new colour schemes and graphics to differentiate from the BS4-compliant model. Once launched, its primary rival will be the BS6 Hero Splendor iSmart 110.
