Yamaha is gearing up for the launch of its first new product for 2021, the FZ-X. The retro-styled commuter will be launched on June 18. Modelled on the FZ Fi commuter, the FZ-X will likely arrive at a premium of Rs 5,000 over the standard bike.
Underneath the retro garb, you will get a familiar 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that makes 12.37PS and 13.6Nm. While the output is inadequate for a 150cc motorcycle, expect it to be just as frugal and easy to ride as the FZ Fi v3.
The heavily revised bodywork of the FZ-X is inspired by Yamaha’s XSR series of bikes. That said, it didn’t particularly look all that appealing in the spy shots. Let’s hope it manages to look better in the flesh. But for that, we will have to wait until June 18.
