Audi's all-new flagship A8 has been caught testing in Mumbai. With it's distinctive new 'Matrix Beam' headlights (Yes, That is actually a real trademark by Audi) and its new restyled body panels, the largest Audi saloon is all set for an Indian debut sometime later this year. With a lightly new and shallower grille, extra creases on the bonnet, and a set of redesigned wheels and bumpers, The new Audi A8 is more of a facelift as compared to a whole new car. With the all-new S Class launch in India just around the corner, the Audi A8 will have to work twice as hard to keep it's fellow German rival at bay and these new features and design elements may do just that.
Engine options for the new Audi A8 are expected to stay the same with slightly higher outputs. Audi also claims these more powerful versions of their current engines will run much cleaner and leaner than it's predecessors. This should result in far less carbon emissions and slightly greater fuel economy than before. The standard engines, the popular the 3.0 Litre V6 diesel and the all-new 4.2 Litre V8 Diesel will also be accompanied by the mammoth 6.0 Litre V12. Audi is also expected to launch the S8 in India. The S8 will be powered by a twin-turbo 4.0 Litre V8 making close to 550 Bhp. All the versions will be equipped with Audi's excellent 8-speed Automatic gearbox and Audi's trademark Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
