Hero MotoCorp launched their first maxi-scooter, the Xoom 160, at Auto Expo 2025. It gets a brand-new 156cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which makes 14PS and 13.7Nm. The scooter is available in a single variant and is priced at Rs 1,48,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Let’s look at the bikes and scooters you can buy for a similar price as the new Xoom 160.

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is the most affordable and the lightest Royal Enfield bike currently on sale in India. It gets a roadster design and is powered by the J-Series 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 20.4PS and 27Nm, which is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. In terms of features, it gets a semi-digital instrument cluster and single-channel ABS. The Hunter 350 is a great choice for college going students who want a Royal Enfield but don’t want to deal with the weight which the badge comes with making it a great entry point into the Royal Enfield family.

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is a sporty naked motorcycle in the 160cc category. The Apache RTR 160 4V has set a benchmark in its segment with everything it gets.. It is powered by a 159.7cc single-cylinder, air & oil-cooled engine which makes 17.55PS and 14.73Nm, which is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle gets an LCD console with riding modes, ABS modes, and smartphone connectivity features.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 is a maxi-scooter from the Japanese manufacturer and is a direct rival to the Xoom 160. It is powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the Yamaha R15 but in a different state of tune. The engine makes 15PS and 13.9Nm, and is paired to a CVT. The scooter gets an LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and an idle stop-start system. The Aerox 155 makes for a great option for college-going students whose parents refuse to buy them a motorcycle.

The Ather 450X is a sporty-looking electric scooter that has two battery pack options: 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh. The larger battery pack provides a claimed (IDC) range of 161km on a full charge. It has a claimed top-speed of 90kmph and does the 0-40kmph sprint in a claimed 3.3 seconds. It gets a 7-inch TFT touchscreen with features such as Google Maps navigation, riding modes, traction control, smartphone connectivity features, regenerative braking, and a lot more.

The Honda CB200X is an adventure-styled motorcycle which is powered by a 184.4cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 17PS and 15.9Nm, which is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle gets an LCD instrument cluster. The bike has a distinct design which is pronounced by the sharp and aggressive tank extensions. The CB200X is a soft-roader that can handle broken roads better than the Hornet 2.0, on which it is based.
