Honda recently launched the new CB300F in India and priced it at a premium when compared with its direct rivals, all of which retail under Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom). This Japanese streetfighter comes in at Rs 2,25,900 for the Deluxe variant, while the Deluxe Pro variant is priced at Rs 2,28,900 (both ex-showroom Delhi), and here are five options that you could look at which cost around the same:
While the KTM 250 Duke is positioned in the same segment as the Honda CB300F, the Austrian streetfighter offers much superior performance. It is powered by a 248cc single-cylinder mill, churning out 30PS and 24Nm. At just Rs 8,322 more than its Japanese counterpart, you do get a proven streetfighter for this premium, which is a good bargain.
The KTM RC 200 provides an authentic supersport experience that no motorcycle in its price range can match. Priced a whole Rs 11,212 lower than the Honda CB300F, this bike is powered by a 199.5 single cylinder engine developing 25.8PS and 19.5Nm, slightly more powerful than the CB300F. Considering the focused ergonomics, premium underpinnings and the performance this bike offers, that too for a lower asking price, it is a good alternative to the new Japanese streetfighter, especially for those who want to learn the nuances of sport riding.
For those who prefer taking the path less travelled, look no further than the Royal Enfield Himalayan. This bike has been around for over half a decade and has the capability of mastering any terrain with ease, thanks to its long-travel suspension, larger front spoke wheel, excellent chassis and a torquey single-cylinder heart. Priced Rs 11,381 lower than the Honda CB300F, it is a worthy option to consider for ADV enthusiasts.
If you’re looking for a motorcycle capable of powering through long tours at high speeds comfortably, well, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is the perfect fit. Powered by a 373cc, single-cylinder engine producing a healthy 40PS and 30Nm, this bike is priced Rs 2,362 lower than the Honda CB300F, which makes the Bajaj flagship a great value for money proposition.
Last, but definitely not the least, comes the Yezdi Roadster. Priced a whopping Rs 18,000 lower than the Honda CB300F, this bike is powered by a 334cc single-cylinder motor that churns out 29.7PS and 29Nm. This neo-retro bike is flickable, designed to effortlessly munch miles, and is a good option to consider for enthusiasts who are looking for a motorcycle that can do both weekend tours and office commutes.
