The Kia Syros is the newest nameplate, which is set to enter the sub-4-metre SUV space in January 2025. What makes the Syros special is its unique design language, and the versatility that its feature-loaded cabin offers. Going up against the Syros is the well-received and popular Hyundai Venue that has been in the market for a while now and is a well-packaged subcompact SUV for the price it is offered at.
We take a detailed look at the specifications of the Syros in comparison with that of the Hyundai Venue? Let’s find out which SUV has the upper hand, and why!
The Hyundai Venue is a more conventional looking SUV, while the Syros has a unique design language with a tall-boy appearance. Both SUVs are just short of 4 metres in terms of length, but vary in other parameters. Here are their dimensions divulged:

As seen in the table above, the Syros is superior in almost every parameter. It is wider, taller, has a greater wheelbase and also gets the larger boot space. With the greater wheelbase and taller stance, one can expect the cabin of the Syros to be more spacious. The larger boot space in the Syros will come in handy during longer journeys and airport trips.

A few years ago, the Venue was probably the most well-equipped subcompact SUV and it also introduced new features like ADAS, powered seats and more to the segment. But over the past year or so, the competition has upped the game in terms of features, and the Syros is one such example. It is clearly the better equipped SUV, as it gets additional features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated rear seats, multi-coloured ambient lighting, more sensors, front and side parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and larger displays. These extras make the Syros a more premium and sophisticated offering when compared to the Venue.

Both SUVs essentially belong to the same family, and also share the same turbo-petrol and diesel engines. The Venue also gets a naturally aspirated petrol engine, which can only be had with a 5-speed manual. If you want the diesel engine with the convenience of an automatic gearbox, you will have to pick the Syros.
The Hyundai Venue’s prices range from Rs 7.94 lakh to Rs 13.53 lakh (ex-showroom). The Syros’ prices will be out in January 2025. With the extra niceties and comforts that the Syros offers, we expect it to carry a significant premium over the Venue. Its prices could potentially range from Rs 9.7 lakh to Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Kia Syros and Hyundai Venue compete with SUVs like the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Citroen Basalt, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, and Kia Sonet.
