EXCLUSIVE: Triumph Thruxton 400 Spotted Testing Yet Again

Triumph Thruxton 400 has been spotted testing in India and the motorcycle looks close to production ready. The bike gets a retro design which looks very sporty, and will share its underpinnings with the Speed 400. 

What do we expect?

Triumph plans to go all-out with the upcoming Thruxton 400 in terms of design. It gets a frame mounted fairing around its round LED headlight, clip-on handlebars along with bar-end mirrors and a new tail light. The fourth motorcycle from the Triumph-Bajaj collaboration is quite close to being production ready and will most likely come with new colour schemes which will accentuate the retro cafe-racer style which Triumph aims to achieve.  

In terms of performance, the Triumph Thruxton 400 will most likely be powered by the same engine as the Triumph Speed 400. It gets a 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 40PS and 37.5Nm.The engine will most likely be in the same state of tune as well and will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike is expected to get slip-and-assist clutch and ride-by-wire throttle like the Speed 400. 

Suspension will include a 43mm inverted fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock. Brakes include a 300mm front disc with a radial caliper, and a 230mm rear disc. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends.

The Thruxton 400 will have the same set of features as the Speed 400, a semi-digital instrument cluster with an analogue speedometer. The LCD screen displays tachometer, fuel level, trip meters, odometer, gear position indicator and other basic information.

The motorcycle is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2025 itself and the motorcycle has been spied testing multiple times. It is expected to sit between the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 X in Triumph’s lineup and priced around Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
