Kia has been actively testing the facelifted Seltos, and each and every time new spy shots come up, there is something new about it. In the latest set of pictures, the facelifted SUV’s distinctive rear profile can be seen.
The easiest way to distinguish the facelifted Seltos from the existing model is its new vertically-stacked LED tail lamps with elements similar to the Carens. The LED light strip connecting the lights looks wow, especially at night. Other changes include larger honeycomb inserts for the grille, probably new alloy rims, and updated LED DRLs.
Inside, the main addition to the SUV could be a panoramic sunroof, which would lend the cabin an airier feel. Also, it could get the 10.25-ich digital driver’s display from the Alcazar. Apart from that, the safety of the SUV could be bolstered by the addition of the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as its Hyundai platform sibling, the Creta, is also bound to get it.
Other features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, a Bose sound system, and sound mood lighting will be retained. Passenger safety will be taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control.
No changes are expected to be made underneath the hood. Currently, the Seltos gets a 140PS 1.4-litre turbo-petrol, 115PS 1.5-litre petrol, and 115PS 1.5-litre diesel engine options. All engines get the option of a manual and automatic ‘box, while the 1.5-litre petrol gets a choice of a 6-speed clutchless manual as well.

The facelifted Seltos is expected to be launched in India around mid-2022. And once it is here, it could command a small premium over the existing SUV that is priced from Rs 9.95 lakh. The facelifted SUV will renew its rivalry with the Hyundai Creta, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor/Hector, Tata Harrier, and the Mahindra XUV700 five-seater.
