Like the current model, the facelifted Kia Seltos will come in two broad trims: Tech Line, and GT Line
- Facelifted Kia Seltos Tech Line spotted ahead of July 4 debut.
- Misses out on twin exhaust tips and red touches as seen on the facelifted GT Line model.
- Cabin gets dual integrated displays comprising the infotainment and digital driver’s display.
- New features include dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof and ADAS.
- 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine to make its presence felt here.
The facelifted Kia Seltos has been papped once again – undisguised – ahead of its debut on July 4. While previous images were of the flagship GT Line trim, the SUV has been spotted in its mid-spec Tech Line guise this time around. For the uninitiated, the Tech Line trim gets a more elegant look, while the GT Line gets a sportier touch to its design.
All the new design elements seen on the Seltos GT Line, which was spied earlier, are retained. So you get a larger front grille, reprofiled LED DRLs, and the 18-inch alloy rims from the X-Line trim. However, this being the Tech Line trim, it loses out on the splashes of red on the outside and gets a simpler rear bumper design without the twin exhaust tips.
These spy videos also give a glimpse of the Seltos’ cabin, which seems to be that of the mid-spec trim. You can see the new digital driver’s display merging onto the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that gets physical controls and knobs. Higher-end variants should get the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Other new features on board the SUV include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and most importantly, ADAS. Apart from that, it should get bits from the current model, including a head-up display, ventilated front seats, a Bose sound system, six airbags, a 360-degree camera and electronic stability control.
Kia will also take this opportunity to plonk in the 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine in the Seltos. Apart from that, it should pack in the existing 115PS 1.5-litre petrol and 116PS 1.5-litre diesel engines. All of these engines should be paired with a 6-speed clutchless manual (iMT) and existing automatic transmissions.
The facelifted Kia Seltos will go on sale soon after its debut and will likely command a significant hike over the current model that is priced from Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq as well as the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross and Honda Elevate.
