The prices for the Tata Tiago have dropped by up to Rs 65000 as Tata introduced festive offers for its ICE-powered cars. The Tiago can now be purchased at a starting price of Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiago is also available in a CNG powertrain with a segment-first automatic transmission (AMT) mated to a CNG engine. The Tiago is offered in seven broad variants and it rivals the Maruti Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Citroen C3.

The Tata Tiago is the entry-level hatchback from Tata Motors, featuring a modern design and a well-equipped cabin. The hatchback can be an excellent choice for first-time car buyers. The Tiago is available with both petrol and CNG powertrains, and was among the first cars to get an automatic transmission with CNG option.

Tata Tiago Key Highlights

Features: The Tiago features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 8-speaker Harman sound system, a rear defogger with a wiper, and automatic climate control. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. Notably, it has received a four-star rating in the Global NCAP safety tests, establishing it as one of the safer options in its segment.

Engine: The Tata Tiago is available with two engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 86PS/113Nm, and a 1.2-litre CNG engine with 73PS/95Nm. Both engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, while the petrol engine also offers a 5-speed AMT. The claimed fuel efficiency figure of the 5-speed MT is 20.01kmpl while that of the 5-speed AMT is 19.43kmpl. The CNG variant has a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.49km/kg. It measures 3765mm in length, 1677mm in width, and 1535mm in height, with a 2400mm wheelbase.

Rivals: The Tata Tiago competes with the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Hyundai Santro, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Maruti Celerio.

Variants: The Tata Tiago is available in five broad trims: XE, XM, XT (O), XT, and XZ+. For the CNG variant, your options are limited to the XE, XM, XT, and XZ+ trims. It is offered in five colour choices: Midnight Plum, Flame Red, Opal White, Arizona Blue, and Daytona Grey.

I am driving TATA Tiago for

I have been driving the Tata Tiago for about 5 years and have covered nearly 60,000 km. I believe this is one of the best cars in the market, offering excellent fuel economy and low maintenance costs. The seats are comfortable, providing ample leg space, and all the interior parts feel premium. My family of five sits comfortably and feels refreshed after long rides. This is truly one of Tata's best cars, and I am planning to upgrade to the latest Tata Tiago model in the near future.
