Yamaha FZ X
Pros and Cons of FZ-X
- Smooth and refined engine
- High fuel efficiency
- Especially in the city
- Comfortable ergonomics
- Polarising design might not appeal to everyone
- Performance is severely lacking
While the FZ-X certainly looks unique and runs on the tried and tested Yamaha FZ platform, it severely under delivers in terms of performance and feels like a consolation prize for those eagerly waiting for Yamaha to launch the XSR155 in India.

FZ-X Key Highlights
Price: The bike is available in five distinctive colours, at varying prices. The Matte Titan and Dark Matte Blue variants are priced at Rs 1,37,200, and the Matte Copper and Metallic Black variants cost Rs 1,36,200. The newly launched Chrome variant costs Rs 1,39,700 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
Design: The Yamaha FZ-X has quite a retro look with its round headlight, muscular tear-drop fuel tank, simple side panels, and chunky exhaust. The fuel tank also gets matte black extensions flowing neatly in a sculpted tuck-and-roll seat with a simple pillion grab handle. It also gets a metal engine cowl and features golden alloy wheels with fork gaiters.
Features: The FZ-X comes with a negative LCD instrument console that provides information like speed, tachometer, trip meter, odometer, fuel level, clock, Eco prompt, TCS (Traction Control System) alert along with other telltale lights above the display. The console also shows smartphone notifications, phone battery levels and call alerts through the Yamaha Y-Connect app via Bluetooth. The bike is now compatible with E20 fuel (20 percent ethanol and 80 percent petrol, aiding in reducing emissions) and features TCS (Traction Control System) to avoid tyre slippage.
Engine: The Yamaha FZ-X is powered by a single-cylinder, 149cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine which produces 12.4PS and 13.3Nm. The engine is linked to a five-speed gearbox and the bike comes with traction control for added safety.
Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: Suspension duties are handled by a 41mm telescopic front fork and a seven-step preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is looked after by a 282mm front disc and 220mm rear disc, with single-channel ABS as standard. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels which are wrapped in 100-section front and 140-section rear tubeless tyres. The bike has a 10-litre fuel tank and weighs 139kg (kerb). It has an 810mm tall seat and a ground clearance of 165mm.
Rivals: The closest competitors of the Yamaha FZ-X are the Kawasaki W175 and the Keeway SR125.
Variants: The bike comes in three paint schemes with all getting similar specs. The Matte Black and Matte Copper variants get black alloy wheels with the latter getting colour-coded rim stickers. The golden alloy wheels are only available in the Dark Matte Blue model, justifying the added cost.

Great Bike
The Yamaha FZ-X offers a balanced driving experience with its upright riding position and comfortable seat. The handling is nimble, making it suitable for both city commutes and occasional long rides. However, the seat could be more cushioned for enhanced long-distance comfort. The best aspect of the FZ-X is its stylish design, reminiscent of a classic scrambler with modern touches. The worst aspect would be its slightly firm suspension, which can be felt on rough roads, affecting the overall comfort. In terms of performance, the FZ-X impresses with its refined engine, delivering adequate power for urban riding and occasional highway cruises. The mileage is decent, offering good fuel efficiency in its segment. The pickup is smooth and responsive, providing a satisfying riding experience. Build quality is commendable, with sturdy construction ensuring durability over time. Regarding vibrations, while the FZ-X manages vibrations well at lower speeds, they become noticeable at higher revs, affecting overall refinement. In terms of features, it comes equipped with essential amenities like LED lighting, digital instrument cluster, and Bluetooth connectivity, although additional features could enhance its appeal further. Yamaha's after-sale service has generally been reliable, with a widespread network of service centers ensuring prompt assistance for maintenance and repairs. However, occasional delays in spare parts availability have been reported, which can inconvenience owners. Overall, the Yamaha FZ-X is a stylish and capable offering in the commuter segment, excelling in design and performance while offering decent comfort and efficiency. With some improvements in suspension tuning and refinement, it could elevate its standing even further in the market.

convention and invention appealing
The Yamaha FZ- X presents an interesting combination of antique project and ultramodern functionality. Its disparate speedster- phraseology appearance adds faculty to the thoroughfares. Housing a 149cc machine, the FZ- X ensures a sprightly interpretation able for megacity lifts. The nice riding situation prioritizes comfort and command, rounded by a digital exposition for a coincidental touch. Keep in mind that the suspense might feel a laddie rigorous over irregular fiefdom. Boasting estimable energy effectiveness and nimble maneuvering, the FZ- X emerges as a prudent option for civic residers seeking both aesthetics and mileage. suckers and beginners will both detect the FZ- X's admixture of convention and invention appealing.

a reliable vehicle for everything
A Reliable Roommate for My Roommate and Me The Yamaha FZ-X belongs to my roommate, and I have to admit that it has saved his life several times. This motorbike, which costs between Rs. 1.37 and Rs. 1.38 lakhs, provides excellent value given its adaptability and dependability. The bike's safety features are increased by the Disc front and rear brakes, which guarantee prompt and effective stopping. The 139 kilogram FZ-X is well-balanced and simple to drive on the road. With a 10 litre gasoline tank, it enables reasonable mileage and longer journeys without regular refills. My roommate and I have found the Yamaha FZ-X to be a reliable vehicle for everything from everyday commuting to supermarket errands. We can rely on this bike for virtually anything.

4.2Driver seat
I wanted a bike which cruises at 60 kph and this bike fits the bill. It can go beyond that speed but the engine feels stressed post 60 kph. Also around 4k to 5k rpm I feel vibrations at the junction of fuel tank and driver seat from 3rd gear onwards. The gear box is smooth, the controls are good. Most of all I like the braking, handling and ride comfort of this bike. Below 60 kph, it has good pickup when switching from one gear to another which also gives a good kick to the rider.Overall I would say there are other bikes around 50k cheaper than this which would probably give you the same levels of performance. I cant comment on the other things though. I would say this bike is overpriced at 1.5 lakh rupees on road, for the performance it offers.

Its engine strengths for conveys and excellent conservation make it a flexible choice for riders seeking experience. The FZ-outside X's design exudes a gritty, ultramodern vibe, while the factors give comfort and mileage. Specialists take into account its vivacious prosecution, charming strategy, and quick running.
