Mahindra Scorpio N

Features: The Mahindra Scorpio N comes loaded with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech and a 12-speaker Sony 3D surround sound system. It also offers convenience features like cruise control, ventilated front seats, powered driver’s seat, an auto-dimming IRVM, wireless phone charger, an electric sunroof, and dual-zone automatic climate control unit. In terms of safety, it is equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, front and rear cameras with parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Engine: The Mahindra Scorpio N is being offered in a range of engine options. The 2.2-litre diesel engine in the lower variants produces 132 PS and 300 Nm, while in the higher trims, it produces 175 PS with torque figures of up to 400 Nm. The 2-litre turbo-petrol engine churns out 200 PS, with torque outputs of up to 380 Nm. All these engines come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, while a 6-speed automatic is available for the more powerful diesel and turbo-petrol options. The Scorpio N is rear-wheel driven by default, but the 175 PS diesel variants can be equipped with an optional four-wheel drive system. In terms of dimensions, the Mahindra Scorpio N measures 4,662 mm in length, 1,917 mm in width, 1,857 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.

Rivals: The Mahindra Scorpio N rivals other SUVs in the market like the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and the Tata Safari. It can also be considered as a body on frame alternative to compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate and VW Taigun.

Variants: The Mahindra Scorpio N is available in six broad trim levels: Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8 Select (Z8 S), Z8, and Z8L. It is offered in a choice of six exterior colour shades to choose from: Deep Forest, Everest White, Dazzling Silver, Red Rage, Napoli Black, and Midnight Black.

Safety Rating: The Scorpio N has scored a 5 star safety rating in NCAP crash tests.

Mahindra has added new features in the top-end variants of the Scorpio N SUV. The Z8 L variant now comes equipped with additional feature niceties like ventilated seats and auto-dimming IRVMs. Additionally, the black exterior color option is now available for all Z8 variants. Furthermore, a wireless phone charger is now standard across all three Z8 variants, including the Z8 Select, Z8, and Z8 L.
