Though many of the concepts and prototypes displayed at Auto Expo eventually make it to production, there are some that remain concepts; and we guess, most of these may not see the light of day. Here are some of the two-wheelers that still remain concepts.
It’s been four years since the TVS Creon first made its debut at Auto Expo 2018. We’ve seen hints of the scooter's styling being similar to the NTorq, but never the Creon itself until recently. On Aug 9, 2022, a spy shot revealed a TVS Creon-based electric scooter spied in Bengaluru. The image doesn’t show much, but the front apron does resemble the Creon to some extent. The boxy rear end is reminiscent of the iQube, although the placement of the full-digital console is similar to the Creon. So is the electric scooter one step closer to its production form? Head here to find out.
Back in 2014, Hero showed the radical-looking Hastur – a 620cc parallel twin streetfighter concept, built in conjunction with EBR. Back then, the bike gave us a glimpse of what the Indian manufacturer could bring to the table in the future. It’s been eight years since and we still haven’t seen a single bike based on the Hastur concept. And the partnership with EBR? Kaput.
In terms of design, the bike featured a bright yellow trellis frame with minimal body work, twin projector headlamps, upside-down forks, massive discs and sticky 17-inch Pirelli Diablo tyres. More on the bike here.

The Hero HX250R was displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo and generated considerable interest among the Indian motorcycling community. Back then, Hero’s erstwhile technical partner Eric Buell Racing had a significant contribution to the HX250R project. Though the partnership soon fell apart, Hero managed to acquire EBR’s consulting business for over Rs 17 crore which includes projects like the HX250R Eric Buell Racing had undertaken for the Indian brand.
Bajaj revealed the RS400 at the 2014 Auto Expo alongside the CS400, the same bike that became the Dominar 400. While the brand followed through with the Dominar 400, it only gave us a 200cc iteration of the RS400. Bajaj should easily build one using its cross-platform format but hasn’t done so yet. So as of today, the Bajaj Pulsar RS400 still remains a concept.
The Emflux One was a proper electric supersport showcased at the Expo boasting some incredible performance numbers. Nought to 100kmph in just 3 seconds and a top speed of 200kmph should give you the idea. Its lithium-ion battery developed by Samsung could have delivered a company-claimed range of 200km. It was packed to the teeth as well with adjustable Ohlins suspension at both ends, Brembo-powered brakes and a full TFT screen. More on the Emflux One here.
In 2019, Emflux announced it was working on two new streetfighters based on the Emflux one, christened the Two and Two+. The two streetfighters were pegged as affordable options and were likely to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. Unfortunately, neither did the showcase take place nor the bikes go into production.
