July is coming and it’s bringing the rain gods with it. But we’re prepared because it’s been raining in the two-wheeler space already, especially so in the last week. And with that terrible joke, let’s have a look at five news pieces that caught our attention in the past seven days:
As has been the case with the past couple of weeks, we had a bunch of interesting things going around in the electric space this time as well. A KTM electric scooter was spotted a couple of days ago and it does look very appealing. Check it out here.
Next was an exciting announcement from Simple Energy as the electric bikemaker announced that it has two electric scooters in the pipeline, both of which will be more affordable than the One. Here’s what we think their prices could be. Along with Simple, even Vida has announced that the V1 platform will spawn multiple electric scooters soon.
There was no dearth of spy shots this week. It all started with the Hero Karizma XMR 210, with the bike being spied testing once again with heavy camouflage.
Next was the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, a bike that sounds like the perfect middleweight adventure bike for India. Here’s a closer look at the test mule.
And the final two bikes were bikes that are evergreen to the spy shots’ list. The 2023 KTM 390 Duke was spotted in a hot new colour, and then it was the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 that was spotted without camouflage.
Now if you thought four spy shots was a lot, wait till you hear that there were as many as five launches in this week. Honda first launched the OBD 2-compliant Dio, giving India’s OG sporty scooter a bunch of keyless features as well. Talking about Honda, the Japanese bikemaker also launched the updated Unicorn.
Next was Hero, as the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer first relaunched the iconic Passion Plus, before giving its sportiest naked, the Xtreme 160R, its biggest update yet. More power, better hardware and more features, here’s everything that the bike boasts of.
Hero revealed quite some details about its upcoming bikes, disclosing that it has two 125cc bikes in the pipeline. In fact, a design patent also revealed that Hero might have a maxi-scooter planned for India. Check it out here.
TVS applied for a new cruiser design trademark recently. Could this finally be the Zeppelin that we’ve been waiting for? Here’s what we think.
