Hero MotoCorp had a lot of surprises for us at EICMA 2024, and the brand has unveiled 4 new upcoming bikes, and an electric scooter from their subsidiary Vida. In this article we will be giving you a brief overview of everything that was unveiled by Hero.
Hero had been working on an XPulse 210, for a while and now we have finally got to see the bike in flesh. It features a typical ADV/dual-sport design, with the raised beak like fender, gaitered fork, the long single-piece seat and an overall slim and sleek profile.
The Hero XPulse 210 is powered by a 210cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, same as the one used on the Karizma XMR 210. But this one produces 24.6PS and 20.7Nm compared to the Karizma XMR 210’s 25.5PS and 20.4Nm.
It gets a long-travel telescopic fork with 210mm wheel travel at the front and a monoshock, with 205mm wheel travel at the rear. It features a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheel setup, with braking duties being handled by discs at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
XPulse 210 gets a 4.2-inch TFT console, which displays information such as speed, time, tachometer readings, odometer and trip meter readouts. The brand has also added switchable ABS at the rear wheel, which will improve the bike’s off-roading credentials, allowing for controlled slides.
The Hero Xtreme 250R is an upcoming streetfighter from the brand, based on a new 250cc platform. The bike features a similar design language and styling as the other bikes in the Xtreme lineup, but with a few changes. The Xtreme 250R has a more aggressive design, with its larger looking sculpted tank combined with the sharp headlight, giving it a more menacing look.
It will be powered by a new 250cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 30PS and 25Nm.
The bike is built on a trellis frame and is suspended on a 43mm inverted fork at front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike rolls on alloy wheels with braking duties being taken care of by petal discs at both ends. In terms of features, it will offer switchable ABS modes according to the brand.
The Hero Karizma XMR 250 is the brand’s supersport offering based on the new 250cc platform. It will feature the same engine as the Xtreme 250R and will share a lot of similar parts with it as well.
The bike features a sharp supersport design, with race-inspired winglets at the front. The bike manages to come off as a more premium upgrade to the Hero Karizma XMR 210.
It will get an LCD instrument console, similar to the one we have seen on the XMR 210 and could offer features such as height adjustable clip-ons and ABS modes.
During the second day of EICMA 2024, Hero unveiled an updated version of the Hero Mavrick 440 featuring a new colour scheme and updated underpinnings. The 2025 Mavrick 440 had a grey colour scheme and featured a gold-finished inverted fork.
The instrument console has also been changed, and the bike now comes with the same TFT console as used on the Harley-Davidson X440.
Other than these changes, the bike remains the same. It is still powered by the same 440cc, air and oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 27.36PS and 36Nm.
Hero also unveiled the upcoming XPulse 421 concept at EICMA 2024, and the bike looks quite different from the XPulse 210. It doesn’t feature a similar dual-sport like design language and the brand has instead gone with something that is more in line with what we have seen on Dakar-rally bikes.
The bike will likely be powered by a new 420cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs around 43PS to 45PS. It will be built on a trellis frame, with a suspension setup that comprises an inverted fork and monoshock.
The Hero Vida Z is an upcoming family electric scooter from the Hero subsidiary and will likely be positioned as a more affordable variant. The scooter features a simple and minimalist design, which gives it a family-oriented scooter look and feel. It gets a large single-piece seat and features a pillion backrest.
The e-scooter will be offered in various battery capacities ranging from 2.2kWh to 4.4kWh. It will also get a removable battery setup, which will make it easy to charge the batteries. .
The scooter will feature a TFT console and offer features such as vehicle health monitoring, geofencing, theft alerts and an immobiliser. Hero will also be offering over-the-air (OTA) updates as well, allowing riders to get the latest updates and features without having to visit the showroom.
More details of all Hero bikes and scooters that have been unveiled will likely be revealed during Hero World 2025. We expect the Hero XPulse 210 to be launched around that time and it could come at a price that is around Rs 1.9 lakh ex-showroom. The bike could replace the XPulse 200 4V Pro variant, this will help Hero retain the Hero XPulse 200 4V as an entry level dual-sport while the XPulse 210 will be geared towards enthusiasts.
