Kia has begun delivering began delivering the EV6 to customers, starting in October 2022. According to the carmaker, 152 units of the segment-bending premium EV were delivered, already higher than the 100 units allocated for the Indian market at launch.

flagship vehicle in India is offered in two variants, GT-Line RWD (rear-wheel drive) and GT-Line AWD (all-wheel drive). The base RWD is powered by a 229PS e-motor, while the AWD model has an output of 325PS.
Regardless of the variant, the EV6 gets a 77.4kWh battery pack that’s good for a claimed range of over 500km.
The Kia EV6 is brimming with premium features such as dual 12.3-inch displays for driver’s instrumentation and infotainment, an augmented reality head-up display (HUD), 14-speaker Meridian sound system, powered tailgate and panoramic sunroof. It even has V2L (vehicle-to-load) tech for charging other EVs (such as e-bikes) or powering devices and appliances.Â

The Kia EV6 is imported as a completely built-up unit (CBU), so it’s subjected to the steepest taxes and custom duties. It costs Rs 59.95 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India) onwards, higher than its locally assembled rival, the Volvo XC40 Recharge. Other competitors of the EV6 include BMW’s i4 electric sedan and upcoming EVs such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Â
