This is the 2024 Porsche Cayenne, which breaks cover after a long teaser and marketing campaigns. And while it isn’t a brand-new generation, the sports car manufacturer from Zuffenhausen has given one of its best sellers minor updates on the exterior and substantial changes on the interior. So without further ado, let’s get cracking.
Starting with the exterior, the Cayenne’s fascia has been updated with a tinge of Taycan influence. The headlamps design is reminiscent of its flagship EV, placed on muscular haunches, giving it a beefy look. Below that is a slatted grille that dominates the fascia with LED elements housed in the gigantic airdams.
In contrast to the completely overhauled front-end, the side profile and rear-end are largely similar to the outgoing SUV. It does get minor updates, though, in the form of revised alloy designs, connected LED tail lamps with a 3D-like insignia and a new rear bumper. Like before, the facelifted Cayenne can be had in either an SUV or a sportier SUV-coupe body style.

The minor exterior changes hide the expansive updates made to the interior. The SUV gets a brand new dashboard design that is heavily influenced by the Taycan and 911. So, the updated Cayenne gets a new dashboard with three screens dominating the interior: a 12.6-inch digital driver’s display, a 12.3-inch main infotainment screen and a 10.9-inch co-driver screen.
Porsche has also done away with the analogue rev counter, a traditional touch for its ICE cars, which is replaced by a new digital driver’s display. Sigh! But thankfully, Porsche has retained physical knobs for the climate control, allowing much easier usability. To take a closer look at the new dashboard and its design touches, check out this detailed report.
It’s not just the design that Porsche has been playing around with, but the powertrains have been tinkered to put out more power too. Like before, you continue to get V6, V8 and even plug-in hybrid powertrain options. And the best part is, all of the powertrains have been updated to develop more horses. To make life easier, we have compiled all the deets in a table below:
Variant |
Power Output |
Cayenne (3-litre V6) |
348PS (+13PS) |
Cayenne e-Hybrid (3-litre V6 + e-motor) |
470PS* (+8PS) |
Cayenne S (4-litre V8) |
474PS (+34PS) |
Cayenne Turbo GT (4-litre V8) |
659PS (+19PS) |
*Combined output
Porsche also states it has focussed on improving the ride and handling balance, especially for the lower variants with steel springs. This is thanks to the new two valve technology with separate rebound and compression. Higher up the variant lineup, the Cayenne gets air suspension for four-wheel steering for better driving prowess.
So yes, updates to the Porsche Cayenne are substantial and keep it up to date with rising competition. We expect the refreshed SUV to reach here in 2024 and it will lock horns with the BMW XM, Audi RS Q8 and Lamborghini Urus.
