A few months after the spy shots of a new Bajaj Dominar 400 variant surfaced online, the bike has started arriving at the dealerships with new parts. With the festive season around the corner, the bikemaker might just launch the bike later this month.
The Dominar 400 is Bajaj’s idea of a power cruiser, and with the new changes, the bike will be friendlier for long hauls. From better wind protection to luggage mounting options, the Dominar 400 will now be a great tourer.
Bajaj has equipped the new Dominar 400 with a new, bigger windshield. This will reduce windblast and delay fatigue when spending long hours on the saddle. A new set of knuckleguards, engine and radiator guard, and an aluminum sump guard has been added to ensure better protection.
One of the highlights of this update is the new luggage mounting rack. The bike spied sported a new tail rack with integrated grab rails for the pillion. The new system also seems to have provision to mount hard case pannier bags, likely to be offered by the manufacturer itself. There’s also a backrest for the pillion.
Bajaj is unlikely to make any changes to the engine, and it will continue to use the same 373.2cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine developing 40PS and 35Nm.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 hasn’t been raking in good sales for quite a while now. With the new touring-oriented version, the bikemaker intends to lure in more crowds. Currently, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is priced at Rs 2.11 lakh (ex-showroom) and with this kit, the cost may go up by Rs 7,000.
