The Mustang is currently in its seventh generation.
Gets a 5-litre, naturally aspirated V8 available in two states of tune - 507PS and 487PS.
Turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine produces 319PS and 475Nm.
Global deliveries will begin around March 2023.
Remember when Ford uncovered the seventh-generation Ford Mustang in September, and claimed that it’ll get the most powerful iteration of the naturally aspirated Coyote V8 but didn’t disclose the specs at the time? Well, the deets have now been spilled and that claim has turned out to be true.
Starting from the top of the Mustang range, the 5.0-litre, naturally aspirated V8 unit found in the Dark Horse variant is the most powerful unit to power a stock Mustang, churning out 507PS (20PS more than before) and 567Nm.
It achieves that power figure through a bunch of updated components, including a uniquely balanced crankshaft and forged piston connecting rods – the latter being borrowed from the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. The upgraded engine components allow for an extended operation around its 7500rpm redline.
The same unit in the standard Mustang GT produces 487PS and 563Nm. It gets an optional active-valve performance exhaust system that boosts its power to 493PS and 567Nm, which is accompanied by a boost in its sound as well.
Last but not least, the Mustang EcoBoost offers an affordable proposition in the Mustang range sporting a turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder EcoBoost engine belting out 319PS and 475Nm. The optional active-valve performance exhaust system is also available with this engine, although it only boosts the soundtrack here and not the output.

The new generation Mustang will go on sale in global markets from around March 2023. As for India, there’s no news about if and when the new generation of Pony car will land on our shores, but we hope Ford has us in its plans.
