BMW has launched the 3 Series Gran Limousine M Sport Pro with a diesel engine. The new top-spec M Sport Pro variant will sit at the top of the variants hierarchy and is Rs 2.4 lakh more expensive than the petrol-powered M Sport variant. Justifying the premium are the cosmetic tweaks and certain feature additions. Bookings are open and deliveries are expected to commence soon. Let’s deep dive into the new diesel variant:
The M Sport Pro pack brings in new cosmetic additions to the exterior of the 3 Series making it look even more sporty than what it was. It features a blacked-out kidney grill, smoked out effect for the adaptive LED headlights, and gloss black rear diffuser. Apart from these minor tweaks, the rest of the design remains similar to the other variants. The same look is shared by the petrol-powered M Sport variant.

The dashboard design and layout remains the same and even the colour schemes of the dash are unchanged. It gets a M Headliner Anthracite upholstery which is standard. For comfort and convenience, the cabin is loaded with premium features such as a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, a wireless phone charger, and multi-colour ambient lighting.

In terms of safety, apart from 6 airbags, dynamic stability control, and park assist, it also gets some ADAS features like blind spot detection, lane change assist, and driver attentiveness alert
Under the hood, the diesel 3 Series is equipped with a 2-litre four-cylinder unit which churns out 193 PS and 400 Nm. It is mated to a 8-speed torque converter automatic which sends power to the rear wheels. It is able to go from naught to 100 kmph in 7.6 seconds.
The BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine is priced from Rs 60.60 lakh to Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4.
