The 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 has been finally launched after much anticipation and it has received quite a bit of updates.
The 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 is priced at Rs 1,50,829 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is only Rs 851 more expensive than the outgoing model. It gets 3 new colour options: Brooklyn Black, Pearl Metallic White, and Glossy Racing Red. Its rivals are the Suzuki Gixxer 250 (Rs 1,81,400), KTM 250 Duke (Rs 2,39,000) and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V (Rs 1,46,820).
Apart from the new colour schemes, the Bajaj Pulsar N250 gets a lot of updates including an LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for calls and SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. It shows speedometer, odometer, distance to empty, mileage readouts, and other regular information. This unit is similar to that of the updated Bajaj Pulsar NS200. The instrument console is connected to the smartphone through the Bajaj Ride Connect app. Also, the updated bike now gets a 37mm inverted fork, which is a substantial upgrade over the telescopic fork setup seen on the outgoing model. This should enhance the bike’s handling even more. The Brooklyn Black colour option gets a black inverted fork while the rest of the two colours get a gold-coloured fork.
Other feature changes include switchable traction control, ABS modes: Rain, Road, Off-Road (the first Bajaj bike to get these features). On/Off road mode is basically an off-road mode which tunes down the rear ABS to allow a little bit of slideways fun. Also, the traction control is switched off only in that mode. Rain mode will have the highest level of ABS intervention for extra safety. The ABS and traction control settings are retained if the key is turned off and turned back on. It also gets a new button on the left switchgear to navigate the console’s menu.
Instead of the 100-section front and 130-section rear tyres with 17-inch wheels setup, the updated bike gets a 110-section front and 140-section rear tyres setup. This should go well with the new front suspension setup.
Other changes include a shortened wheelbase of 1342mm (shorter than the outgoing model by 9mm), taller seat height of 800mm (5mm more) while kerb weight has gone up by 2kg, which stands at 164kg now.
The rest of the bike has remained unchanged and is powered by the same 249cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine producing 24.5PS and 21.5Nm. It is paired to a 5-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. Completing the suspension setup is a Nitrox monoshock while braking duties are taken care of by a 300mm front disc and 230mm rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS as standard. It has a ground clearance of 165mm, tank-mounted USB port and fuel tank capacity of 14 litres.
With these updates, Bajaj Auto has solved the issue of the Pulsar N250 being not feature rich and some more. The inverted fork, addition of ride modes, traction control and LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity enable the N250 to put on a better fight against its rivals. Interestingly, the Pulsar N250 is now the most affordable bike with turn-by-turn navigation. And to get all these updates for a premium of just Rs 851 over the outgoing model is just insane!
Also, the Bajaj Pulsar F250 will get relevant updates soon. Another big news for Pulsar fans is that the Bajaj Pulsar NS400 launch date is confirmed to be May 3, 2024.
