The 2-litre turbo motor, paired to a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive, is enough for a 0-100kmph sprint in 6.2 seconds and 232kmph top speed.
Gets 15mm lower ride height, retuned chassis, and more rigid anti-rolls bars for better handling.
Styling differences include a unique Agate Grey shade, grey inserts, and the Macan S’ 20-inch wheels.
Cabin gets sports seats, a sporty steering wheel and a Sport Chrono stopwatch on the dashboard.
Should arrive in India later this year.
Back in July 2021, Porsche gave the Macan SUV a midlife refresh with plenty of revamps in multiple areas. It's February 2022, and the carmaker has decided to expand the lineup by introducing the Macan T. The ‘T’ stands for ‘Touring’ which has been a tradition on the 718 and 911, with the Macan now being the first Porsche SUV to get this trim.
Like is the case with ‘Touring’ models, the Macan T is positioned between the base Macan and Macan S. It retains the base model’s 265PS 2-litre turbocharged motor, paired to a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox with an all-wheel drivetrain. That’s enough for a 0-100kmph sprint in 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 232kmph.
Porsche’s ‘Touring’ range of cars has traditionally put the focus on the driver, and the Macan T does just that. The carmaker claims its 2-litre engine being 58.8 kg lighter than the Macan S’ 380PS 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 allows for more nimble handling. In terms of performance trickery, it's the first Porsche to get steel suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as standard. A 15mm lower body, more rigid anti-roll bars, and tweaks to the chassis tuning further contribute to a more agile Macan.
You can also opt for adaptive air suspension that lowers the body by another 10mm. Porsche’s traction management system has also been tweaked for a more rear-wheel bias, which should make sprinting off the line that little bit more grippier.
The Macan T differentiates from its sibling trims with a unique Agate Grey shade, grey inserts on the side mirrors, roof spoiler, grille surrounds as well as the rear logos. There’s also a bit of black tint on the windows and exhaust tips. The 20-inch wheels are lifted from the Macan S. Inside, you get eight-way heated sports seats, as well as a sports steering wheel. You’ll notice a Sport Chrono stopwatch on the upper part of the dashboard.
Porsche recently brought the facelifted Macan to India which retails from Rs 83.21 Lakh to Rs 1.46 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). Considering how long it took to get the facelifted SUV here, it shouldn’t be too long before Porsche brings the Macan T to India as well.
