Another day and yet another sighting of the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 LC has taken place. The ADV has been spied on a couple of times recently ahead of its launch this year, hinting that it is closer to being production-ready.
The recent spy shots reveal a tab-like item on its premium Showa USD fork which could either mean that the forks are adjustable or it could just be the Showa branding coming to the fore.
The possibility of Royal Enfield offering adjustable suspension on the regular variant of its upcoming adventure motorcycle is less, as the feature would be far more appropriate for the ‘Rally’ trim arriving somewhere down the line. But hey, one can wish for something brilliant, can’t they?
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 First Ride Review: Highway Star
ZigOpinion: Is The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Pricey Or Not?
Powering the Himalayan 450 LC will be a 450cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, a first for Royal Enfield. In terms of performance, we expect the ADV to produce power and torque figures similar to its primary rival, the KTM 390 Adventure, which has an engine that makes 43.5PS and 37Nm.
Unlike the 390 though, we expect Royal Enfield to tune the motor for a slightly balanced riding experience. Furthermore, we had recently spotted the LCD console featured on the ADV, which is a circular, fully digital console. Head here for more details.
We expect the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 LC to have a price tag of Rs 3 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. It will rival the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming Hero XPulse 400. While this is an exciting motorcycle to look forward to, here’s our advice to Royal Enfield on getting it right.
