The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is easily India’s most-anticipated upcoming bike. While it has been under test for the longest time now, Royal Enfield seems to be working on high-altitude winter testing of the Himalayan 450, as the adventure tourer was recently spotted testing in the snowy conditions of Ladakh.
The bike’s seen with a sump guard, a chunky exhaust canister and tyre chains to provide extra traction in the snow. Other bits, meanwhile, have remained the same. Powering the Himalayan 450 LC will be a 450cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, with power and torque figures that should be similar to its primary rival, the KTM 390 Adventure, which makes 43.5PS and 37Nm. Here’s what the bike will sound like.
To know what sort of an instrument console the ADV will flaunt, click here. The bike’s expected to be launched in the middle of this year at a price tag of around Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom). And don’t be too surprised if the roads of Ladakh are flooded with this ADV. Once here, it’ll go up against the KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming Hero XPulse 400.
