In the past week, we reported some important news from the automobile industry including the launch of Toyota Hyryder’s CNG variants, globally updated luxury SUVs, 2023 updates on Hyundai’s SUV lineup and more. In this wrap-up, we have listed those developments in case you miss them last week.
Hyundai has updated the Creta, Alcazar and Venue. The first two SUVs now get many standard safety features including six airbags and electronic stability control (ESC). Hyundai has also updated the engines of these SUVs to make them compliant with BS6 Phase 2 and RDE norms.
The Venue also gets an updated diesel unit compliant with the new norms and with a higher output too. In addition to this, the subcompact SUV now has four airbags from the mid-spec S(O) trim.
Prices for the CNG variants of the Toyota Hyryder came out this week starting from Rs 12.28 lakh (ex-showroom). The CNG variants use the same 1.5-litre engine as the Hyryder’s mild-hybrid variants and churn out a reduced output of 88PS and 121.5Nm.
Tata has now confirmed the launch timeline of the CNG variants of Punch and Altroz. Both of these models will arrive in the first half of the upcoming financial year. These Punch and Altroz CNG variants will feature the carmaker’s twin-cylinder technology that does not compromise the boot space.
After a long journey from reveal to launch to reaching dealerships, the Innova Hycross is now being delivered to customers. The popular MPV comes with petrol and strong hybrid powertrain options with loads of premium features. Due to its popularity, the Toyota MPV has a waiting period higher than three months.
This week, the five-door version of the Mahindra Thar was spied again. Covered completely in camouflage, the five-door Thar gave us some details about its design language including the size of the rear doors and the position of its rear door handles.
Land Rover has revealed the facelifted version of the Range Rover Velar in the UK. It comes with some design changes, a few features upgrades, and updated petrol and diesel engines.
Also, the Mercedes-Benz GLE has received a mid-life update in the global market. It gets minor changes to its cabin, slightly redesigned exterior and an updated powertrain. These updated SUVs are expected to make their way to India latest by 2024.
