Yamaha

This was a very eventful week for Yamaha and the news that came out wasn’t the best. The week started off with an announcement of the Japanese brand recalling both scooters in its 125cc lineup, the Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid. The recall will be the largest of its kind with around 3 lakh scooters affected. Here’s the reason

The next reason why the brand came in the news was because the brand has announced that they will be discontinuing the Yamaha YZF-R1in 2025, and will not be updating it to comply with the newer emission norms. Here’s the evolution of the iconic bike over the years in images.

Lastly, there was a rumour floating around that Yamaha is planning on bringing back the RX100 in a 225cc guise. Here’s why we think the rumours make absolutely no sense.

Honda

Honda this week has launched the Honda NX400 ADV and the updated 2024 CBR400R in Japan. The new NX400 will be replacing the Honda CB400X and with this launch, Honda is also planning on replacing the CB-X series with the NX series.

The CBR400R is a supersport offering and it has received updates in terms of design and features. Both bikes are unlikely to come to India. This is why we think so.

Electric News

This week was pretty interesting in the EV space as we saw some launches, and more importantly, price cuts.

The week started off with Ola Electric announcing a massive price cut on their scooter lineup which includes the S1 Pro, S1 Air, and S1 X+. The price cut is valid up to the end of February. Here’s how much you can save when buying an Ola scooter now.
