The naked streetfighter has received a really minor update for this year

KTM India has updated the 200 Duke with a rather minute upgrade for 2023. Interestingly, this minute upgrade commands a premium of Rs 3,155 over the outgoing model and is priced at Rs 1.96 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). In the sporty 200cc segment, the KTM 200 Duke rivals the likes of  Bajaj Pulsar NS200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Honda Hornet 2.0.

What’s New?

The most important update on the 2023 KTM 200 Duke is the addition of an LED headlight borrowed from its older siblings – the KTM 390 Duke and 250 Duke. Hence, it will now be more difficult to distinguish between the three streetfighters.

What’s Unchanged?

That's it, the most important update is the only update on the 200 Duke and the rest of the bike remains completely unchanged. It was already BS6.2 emission norms and OBD 2 compliant, and that conversion had cost a premium of Rs 1,152. Check out the details here.

Engine is the same too – a 199.5cc liquid-cooled engine making 25PS and 19.3Nm. Even though the engine hasn’t received a significant update in almost 10 years, it is still the most powerful 200 motor in India.

The inverted fork along with monoshock, 320mm front disc and 230mm rear unit, and 17-inch alloy wheels haven’t been tampered with either.

ZigSays

Yes, an LED headlight is a useful update, but the premium and the current price of the 200 Duke push it out of the value-for-money zone. That said, KTM is already working on a next-gen 200 Duke, which should launch at the end of this year or sometime in 2024.
