The neo-retro bike gets an all-new engine and a bunch of features including turn-by-turn navigation and riding modes

After weeks of speculation and anticipation, TVS has finally spilled the beans on its new motorcycle, the Ronin.

What's Its Price? Who Are Its Rivals?

The TVS Ronin has been priced at Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards. While there is no direct rival to this bike, the closest competitor is the Honda CB350RS which is priced at Rs 2.03 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

What's New?

The TVS Ronin is a neo-retro scrambler, and does justice to its design. So, while bits like the circular headlight, a tuck-and-roll styled seat, off-set instrument cluster and the chiselled fuel tank scream retro, there are neoteric elements like LED illumination all around, an LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity.

The TVS Ronin is powered by a new 225.9cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine producing 20.5PS at 7750rpm and 19.93Nm at 3750rpm. Yes, the Hosur-based company has tuned the engine for low and mid-range grunt. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

This engine sits in a new double-cradle split chassis. And to back this performance, TVS has added premium hardware. So, the Ronnin sports 41mm Showa Big Piston USD fork and monoshock suspension setup. Disc brakes at both ends are entrusted with braking duties, backed by the safety net of dual-channel ABS. While the single-channel ABS model weighs 159kg, the dual-channel ABS variant weighs 160kg.

Going by how feature-rich TVS products have been lately, the Ronin is no less. It gets ‘Urban’ and ‘Rain’ ABS modes along with the company’s SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity including voice assistance and turn-by-turn navigation. Other features on this bike include Glide Through Traffic (low-speed assist), a silent starter and a USB charger.

ZigSays

The TVS Ronin is an all-new motorcycle from the Hosur-based bikemaker and has been priced competitively. Furthermore, as expected from TVS, it is loaded to the gills with features and backed by decent performance too. But how is the riding experience? Stay tuned for our first ride review that drops next week.
