The 2024 KTM 390 Duke is undoubtedly one of the hottest upcoming bikes of the year and after multiple spy shots and teasers, it has finally made its way to India, accompanied by the 2024 KTM 250 Duke. Here’s all you need to know about it:
KTM has priced the new 250 Duke at a staggering Rs 2,39,000, meaning it’s a miniscule Rs 779 more than before. Unbelievable! For perspective, the Honda Unicorn recently got a Rs 4,082 price hike for no real update as such. Rivals for the 250 Duke include the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and the Bajaj Dominar 250.
As for the new 390 Duke, it too gets fantastic pricing. Rs 3,10,520 means it’s just Rs 13,045 more than before, which is absolutely wild, given what the new bike packs. Its rivals include the BMW G 310 R, Apache RTR 310, Triumph Speed 400, QJ Motor SRK 400 and the Bajaj Dominar 400.
All prices ex-showroom Delhi
You can check out what the new-gen Dukes get in our unveil story here. So here, let’s have a quick look at what the India-spec 390 Duke get:
399cc engine (longer stroke than before) making a solid 46PS and 39Nm, 2.5PS and 2Nm more than before
In fact, that’s more than the UK-spec bike, which makes 44.86PS and 39Nm
80 percent of power and torque is available from just 5000rpm thanks to a larger airbox
0-60 in 2.4s | 0-100 in 5.9s (both claimed) | 155kmph top speed
2 radiator fans for better cooling
800mm seat height for India | The units that are to be exported get an 820mm seat height which buyers here can opt for too (with spacers)
43mm WP Apex open cartridge fork with 5 step adjustability for rebound and compression
5 step rebound and 10 step preload adjustability for the monoshock
320mm (F) and 230mm (R) disc brakes
183mm ground clearance | 168kg kerb weight | 13-litre fuel tank
5-inch TFT with Bluetooth connectivity | Music and call control
Quickshifter is standard | Electronic goodies like launch control, wheelie control and cornering ABS are present too
Metzeler M5 H rated tyres should be able to complement the bike’s wild performance
Bookings for both bikes are open for Rs 4,500 | Deliveries will start by next week
As for the 250 Duke, it obviously gets the same aggressive styling and bodywork. Being based on the same platform, it too gets a revised chassis.

We had just one word to say when the bikes were globally unveiled: INCREDIBLE. And that feeling continues even today when the bikes’ prices have been announced. Heck, even 100cc commuters nowadays get bigger price hikes than what the 250 has gotten for what’s a complete overhaul.
And as for the 390 Duke, the Rs 13,045 hike is still fantastic value for money given that almost everything on the bike is new. What are we extremely happy about is that the adjustable suspension has been carried over to the India-spec bike. The fact that it gets grippy tyres is also quite a relief.
The first-gen 390 Duke's Rs 1,80,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) launch price meant it was a LOT of bike for that money and the value for money proposition was through the roof. But then over the years with subsequent price hikes, that very proposition did start dwindling. But now with this fantastic pricing, the Duke seems to have regained its bang for the buck nature. The excitement for the bike, hence, is very much alive. We’re riding it soon, so stay tuned to ZigWheels to be among the first ones to catch our first ride review.
