Meet The 2020 Discovery Sport Launched In India At Rs 57.06 Lakh

Land Rover has launched the 2020 Discovery Sport in India with prices starting from Rs 57.06 lakh (ex-showroom India). It is available with two engine options in two trim levels: S and R-Dynamic SE. The updated SUV gets minor cosmetic tweaks and interior updates along with an all-new platform. Competition for the Disco Sport comes in the form of BMW X3, Mercedes Benz GLC, Audi Q5, and Volvo XC60.

Deliveries for the Land Rover Discovery Sport diesel has commenced. It is priced at Rs 57.06 Lakh for the S variant and Rs 60.89 Lakh for the R-Dynamic SE trim. The British carmaker has not yet released prices for the petrol-powered variants of the Discovery Sport.

The gist of the matter are the two 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. The diesel engine is available in only one state of tune: 180PS/430Nm. Meanwhile, the 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol engine comes mated with mild-hybrid tech, churning out an impressive 249PS and 365Nm of twist. Both these engines come mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The Discovery Sport is also capable off the road as it gets 600mm of water wading capacity, AWD system and Land Rover's Terrain Response 2. Furthermore, the 2020 Discovery Sport has also scored an impressive 5 star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test.

Aesthetically, the new Discovery hasn't changed much. It is 7mm shorter in length and 3mm taller than its predecessor. The previous iteration is already a good-looking SUV and a few minor changes have made it even more premium.

The new headlamps, grille, bumpers, and different LED signature for the tail lamps add to the charm. The cabin retains the same design and layout, but now features a 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.

Some features highlights include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, wireless charging, 4G WiFi hotspot, USB and 12-volt charging points on every row, massaging front seats, powered liftgate, activity key, 11 speaker Meredian sound system, ClearSight camera, and cruise control. On top of that Land Rover has also equipped this 5+2 seater SUV with torque vectoring system, all-terrain progress control, roll stability control, hill launch assist, hill descent control and dynamic stability control.
