When launched in April this year, the new Bajaj Dominar 400 was positioned as a great value for money proposition as it was priced at Rs 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Three months later, Bajaj hiked the price to Rs 1.8 lakh, which still felt reasonable. However, the Dominar 400 now carries a price tag of Rs 1.9 lakh, which is nearly Rs 17,000 more than the original price.
The Dominar’s fortunes were revived with the new generation model as Bajaj kitted it out with a USD fork, a new radial brake caliper and an uprated version of the 373cc engine which is quite similar to the KTM 390 Duke in terms of engine output. This helped it post better sales figures than Royal Enfield’s entire 500cc range. However, the latest price hike may just deter enthusiasts from buying the Dominar, especially when you consider the current market slowdown.
That said, there’s no doubt that the new Bajaj Dominar 400 is a better bike than its predecessor. You can read our thoughts on the bike by clicking the link here.
