The festive season seems to have worked wonders for Jawa Motorcycles as it delivered its biggest order yet - a total of 2,000 Peraks . Deliveries for the motorcycle commenced back in July 2020 . It's priced at Rs 1,94,500 (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs 11,330 more expensive than the standard classic Jawa with dual-channel ABS.
Enthusiasts are drawn to the bike’s hardtail custom bobber look featuring a single-piece seat and a sinister matte black livery. You also get a bigger 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, which in its BS6 form, produces slightly more power and torque than before. Power output is measured at 30.64PS and 32.74Nm -- an increase of 0.2PS and 1.74Nm respectively. Jawa says it has also optimised the gear ratios for a more involved riding experience.
The Perak's low seat height of 750mm makes it accessible for shorter riders. It also weighs just 175kg kerb, so moving it around in the parking lot won't be much of a hassle. What may put off some riders is the fact that it's a single seater.
Jawa's been working on ramping up production of the Perak owing to its strong demand. It is currently running a 'zero inventory' status for the model. This should hopefully help the company rake in more sales in the coming months. Additionally, Jawa could start exporting its motorcycles to Europe by the end of this year which could add to its tally.
