The 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol mill is paired with mild-hybrid tech, churning out 250PS of power and 365Nm of torque.
Price difference for both models ranges between Rs 7,000 and Rs 30,000 compared to their diesel counterparts.
Both models are paired to a 9-speed automatic with off-road features like Land Rover's Terrain Response 2.
Land Rover had initially launched the Range Rover Evoque back in January and the 2020 Discovery Sport in February with only BS6-compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine options. The carmaker has now finally introduced the BS6-compliant Ingenium 2.0-litre petrol engine options to the Range Rover Evoque and the 2020 Discovery Sport with prices starting from Rs 58 lakh and Rs 59.98 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. As is the case with the diesel engines, the petrol engines are available in two variants: S and R-Dynamic SE. Here’s the revised variant lineup:
Discovery Sport |
Petrol |
Diesel |
S |
Rs 58 lakh |
Rs 58.67 lakh |
R-dynamic SE |
Rs 61.94 lakh |
Rs 61.64 lakh |
Range Rover Evoque |
Petrol |
Diesel |
S |
Rs 59.98 lakh |
Rs 59.91 lakh |
R-dynamic SE |
Rs 63.32 lakh |
Rs 62.11 lakh |
All the petrol variants, aside from the S variant of the Discovery Sport, are priced at a premium over their diesel counterparts. The price difference ranges from Rs 7,000 to Rs 30,000.
The main talking point of the two petrol-powered models is what’s under the hood. Both are powered by a 2.0-litre Ingenium mill paired with mild-hybrid tech, churning out 250PS of power and 365Nm of torque. This petrol engine joins the 2.0-litre 180PS/430Nm diesel engine in both model lineups. Both engines are paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission with off-road capabilities courtesy Land Rover's Terrain Response 2.
Deliveries for the petrol-powered variants have already commenced. Thanks to a similar price range, the Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque rival more or less the same models in the Indian market including the BMW X3, BMW X4, Mercedes Benz GLC, and the Audi Q5.
