Land Rover working on super luxury version of the Range Rover

Jaguar and Range Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) has announced plans to make a range topping new variant for the Range Rover luxury SUV. This new SUV will be nearly double the price of the entry level Range Rover and will feature an all new level of luxury that surpasses even the likes of the current generation Range Rover Black Edition.

The new Range Rover top of the line versions will be placed even above the SV-Autobiography long wheelbase and according to SVO's managing director John Edwards it could hit prices about 30 per cent more than its most expensive variants. The new car will also be Land Rover’s answer to the new Bentley Bentayga till Land Rover decides to officially build a car that slots above the current Range Rover or move the luxury SUV to a level above where it sits today.

Although the Range Rover till recently was the most expensive production SUV that one could buy, the new Bentley Bentayga has taken away its crown. The new SUV will go up against the Bentley Bentayga and the new Rolls Royce SUV. The new car will also go up against the likes of the Mercedes-Maybach SUV that has been planned for the next few years.
